Create a task where users highlight words.

Mark the words allows content designers to create textual expressions with a defined set of correct words. The end user highlights words according to the task description and is given a score.

This is a free HTML5 based question type allowing creatives to create challenges where the user is to mark specific types of verbs in a text. All you need is this content type and the H5P plugin for WordPress, Moodle, or Drupal to start creating.

Use

The Mark the Words tool is good for language learning activities that assess understanding of parts of speech. This is a multi purpose content type that can be integrated into an aggregator content type, or used on its own. Instructions

  1. Navigate to the “Pages” section in the lefthand navigation panel of your course site.

  2. Click the blue “+Page” button on the upper righthand corner of the screen.

  3. After entering a title, locate the plug-in icon in the menu bar of the editor. Select “Interactive Content - H5P” or “View All” if it does not show up as an option. Should you have to click “View All,” a window will appear. Click “Interactive Content - H5P.”

  4. Click the blue “+Add content” button.

  5. Wait a few seconds for the options to load. Scroll and select “Mark the Words.” Enter a title and create a task description and text field. Choose the settings that you wish. Click “Save and Insert.” Your content should now display.
