LTI - Gradescope

Gradescope (Gradescope | Save time grading) is a third party, LTI tool that provides various AI-assisted, quick and flexible tools for grading paper-based exams, homework assignments, and code assignments. It is more used in mathematics, science, and engineering than in other disciplines.

When to use it

When instructors want to create a Gradescope-based assignment. Although all Gradescope-based assignments are accessible through the Gradescope navigation menu, they are typically separate from the Assignment menu.

How to use it

To use Gradescope,

  1. Create a new assignment

  2. Under submission type, choose external tool

  3. Scroll down the list and select Gradescope

  4. Link a new Gradescope assignment or an existing one to a Bruin Learn assignment. Let’s say you choose a new Gradescope assignment

  5. Choose the assignment type

  6. Choose the assignment settings

  7. You can see that the link to the Gradescope assignment is now placed inside the URL box. Click Select to close the configure external tool window.

  8. You can also view and manage this Gradescope assignment through the Gradescope navigation menu
