Working with Courses

Create a course

  • Admin > “Name-of-your-Account” > +Course button

  • Provide info about course, then click add course button to save.

Copy a course

  • Select a course, click on Settings

  • Select the Copy this Course button.

  • Enter details for the new course including:

    • Name

    • Course code

    • Start Date

    • End Date

    • Term

  • Select one of the following options

    • All Content

    • Select specific content to copy

  • Click the Create Course button.

Copy the UCLA Template

  • In the target course, click on Import Existing Content

  • Select Copy A Bruinlearn Course.

  • Search for Template 1 (Full Feature)

  • Choose the options you want (full or partial content)

Move a Course to a different Sub-Account

  • Select a course, click on Settings.

  • Under the Course Details tab locate Subaccount and select the location you would like to move the course to

  • Click on the Update Course Details button.

Configure course Navigation

  • To reorder, add, or hide menu items from students, select a course and click on Settings

  • Drag and drop items in the list to reorder

  • Drag and drop items all the way down to the second grouping/list to hide them from students

  • Click the Save button once you are done

Please note that certain hidden items like Announcements, Quizzes, Grades, etc. may remain in the navigation menu with an icon indicating that they are not visible by students. To confirm that students cannot see them, you can activate the student view by clicking on the Student View icon located on the top-right.

Create a course Page

  • Within a course, go to Pages from the navigation menu

  • Click on the View All Pages button (for courses with existing pages)

  • Click on +Page button

  • Fill out the content information and set the desired options and click on Save or Save & Publish button

Set the Home page

  • Within a course, go to Pages from the navigation menu

  • Click on the View All Pages button (for courses with existing pages)

  • Locate the page you would like to set as your Home page and click on more options all the way to the right of the item list

  • From the menu, click on Use as Front Page

  • Please note that you may need to publish the page in order to see the changes
