Bruin Learn - Collaboration Sites

What are Collaboration Sites?

Collaboration (collab) sites are used for a variety of purposes in the learning management system. Some of the more common purposes include content migration sites (draft and master sites), as well as placement exams.

To create a collab site in Bruin Learn, follow the directions below. The instructions will detail building a Sandbox site for an instructor as an example.

  1. Log into your Bruin Learn RITC account using your RITC credentials.

  2. Navigate to the “Admin” tab, located on the left hand panel once in Bruin Learn.

  3. Select “Division of Humanities”, this should be the only division you have access to as a RITC.

  4. In the upper right hand corner, click on “+ Course”

  5. Name the collab site, enter the reference code, and select “Division of Humanities” as the sub-division and then select “Default course” as the Enrollment Term.

    1. The course name can be “Sandbox - Instructor Last name, Instructor First name”

    2. The reference code does not seem to matter, so you can enter the course name as the reference code as well.

  6. Lastly, click the blue “Add course” button on the bottom of the window.

  7. Now, search for the course you just build in the Admin window.

  8. Open the course, and click on “People” in the left panel. Here click on “+ People” and add the course requestor (the instructor who requested a collab sandbox course) as the designer or teacher.

  9. Once you have added the Instructor as the Sandbox course teacher or designer then you have completed the Sandbox site build request…
