Video/Projection: Samsung TV

  • The classroom’s Mac Mini, which is located inside the media cabinet underneath the TV, is connected via HDMI to the TV's HDMI 1 slot.

    • TV Specs:

      • Model: Samsung TU8000 75” UHD 4K Smart TV

      • Resolution: 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160)

      • Available connections:

        • HDMI 1 - Mac Mini

        • HDMI 2 - Barco ClickShare

      • USB-C to HDMI adapters are available for borrowing via DTA.

  • Aside from using the Mac Mini to project to the TV, users have two other options for casting media:

    • The first option is to use the Barco ClickShare casting device that is already connected to the HDMI 2 slot on the TV. To do this:

      1. Grab a Barco ClickShare Button from the media cabinet and connect it via USB to your laptop.

      2. Open the ClickShare client on the laptop.

      3. Change the TV input source to HDMI 2.

      4. When the physical ClickShare button changes to white, it can cast whatever is on the laptop’s screen to the TV. Click the button to share the screen with the TV.

        • When the button is red, it means it’s casting. When it's white, it means it’s ready to cast but hasn’t casted yet.

    • The second option is to plug directly into the HDMI cable that extends to the center of the conference room. This cable is connected to the HDMI 3 slot on the TV, so the input source must be changed to HDMI 3 in order to see the contents.

Classroom Computer: Mac Mini

  • The Mac Mini, keyboard, and mouse are located inside the media cabinet, which is the leftmost cabinet below the TV.

  • There are two accounts on this Mac Mini: a conference room account without a password and a HumTech Admin account with the usual administrator password.

  • Ethernet-connected and equipped with Zoom, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud (not logged in), Preview, and web browsers

Sound System: Bose Wireless Speaker

  • The Bose wireless speaker is already connected as default audio device for Samsung TV

  • This has been tested and does not create feedback or issues with the conferencing equipment.

Conferencing Equipment: Logitech Camera and Microphones

  • The Logitech camera and microphone are set as the default camera and microphone for the Mac Mini. Using the installed Mac Mini and Logitech combination will yield the best video and audio results for any type of teleconferencing that needs to happen in this room.

  • The base, which includes the microphones, is located inside the media cabinet.

  • The camera is located above the TV. It is high enough to be out of reach, yet it can capture the entire room.

    • The camera is controlled by the buttons on the base or the Logitech remote.
