Considerations for Successful Remote Instruction
Active Learning Strategies for Remote Teaching – This guide helps instructors match active learning strategies you may be familiar with from face-to-face to instruction with remote teaching strategies for enhancing student engagement. The guide includes strategies suitable for live interaction over Zoom and recorded lectures, as well as asynchronous activities students can complete independently.
Community Building & Inclusive Teaching in Remote and Online Classes – Translate community-building practices online by creating a sense of inclusivity and care
Bruin Learn Resources – This Bruin Learn course is designed to immerse UCLA faculty, TAs, and support staff in the experience of using Bruin Learn features and functionalities that also offer ideas and insights for teaching remotely. Overall, it aims to provide you with the opportunity to consider, test, and adapt best practices in online course design, teaching, and learning assessment.
Fostering social interaction among students – While social interaction between students is not often considered a goal in the classroom, acknowledging it and addressing it in a way that complements the curriculum can improve student satisfaction, interest, and ultimately success in the course.
