In the chance you will want to host a video on your website the Web Operations team requires that the video be hosted on a service such as Youtube or Vimeo. This will allow your department website to function better, and also ensure the video can easily stream not only on your website but the designated video host. 

  1. Once you have uploaded your video to a separate hosting service such as YouTube, and have a functioning URL for such, place your cursor within a page where you'd like the video thumbnail to appear
  2. Click "Add Media" and select "Insert from URL" on the right panel
  3. Preview or save the page, and ensure on the live site that the video is working 

Please note that when posting videos to service such as Youtube that you should use an UCLA account that already exists, or created for such purposes. Please do not use a personal video hosting account when posting videos for use on UCLA departmental websites.
