Create tasks with lists of statements

Summary H5P tool illustration of checklist.

Description

The Summary content type allows learners to review a certain topic by answering a series of short questions about course material. Summaries support student learning by encouraging them to actively synthesize information as they go.

Summaries, which consist of questions, can function as both an assessment and a presentation tool.

Use

This is a multipurpose content type that can be used in an aggregator content type or on its own. For more information on how H5P types work and how they interact, see http://humtech.ucla.edu/instructional-support/ccle-activities-resources/h5p/ .

Summaries work best when they are presented immediately after the content they are intended to review.

Examples are:

  • at the end of an article or a chapter of text

  • at the end of a video

  • at the last slide of a presentation

When the learner has completed a summary, a complete list of key statements about the topic is the end result. Summaries can be created stand-alone or they can be included in Interactive Videos or Presentations. Both versions are created in the same way.
