Allowing for student accommodations in a course can be done in several ways. The most common form of accommodation however is request for extended time on quizzes from Center for Accessible Education (CAE). Here, we will go over accommodations that can be granted in Bruinlearn to make both teaching and learning more streamline.
Granting extended time on student quizzes in Bruinlearn:
To grant student extra quiz time or extra quiz attempts you will not have to create a separate quiz. Instead, you can create a single quiz for the class, then modify quiz times and attempts per student using the “Moderate Quiz” option.
To moderate a quiz, open the course where a student has requested CAE accommodations. Then, in the left panel click on the Quizzes link in the course navigation. Click on the Name of the quiz you wish to provide accommodations for, and on the right hand side menu, choose Moderate This Quiz.
From there, you can view the specific attempts of a single student via the Search People field. Once you have found the student, click on the Edit icon in the right hand column to add extra time or attempts. The edit icon looks like a gray pencil.
