  1. Navigate to the site, enable editing, click “Add an activity or resource”; select Video Resource at the very bottom of the list on the left.

  2. Name and describe the video. Then click the “Add media” button under the video subheading.

    1. In the new window that pops up, select a video that already exists in your list of media (you may select the desired player size by clicking the arrow next to the select button if you would like).   OR:

    2. In the new window that pops up, click “Add new” and then “Media Upload”. Choose a file to upload to the server, provide it with proper metadata (description and tags), and click “Save and Embed”.  OR:

    3. In the new window that pops up, select “Add new” and then “Kaltura Capture October 2020”January 2021”.  If you are using Kaltura Capture for the first time, you will be prompted to install the program for Windows or Mac; once this is done, you may need to click “Back” and reselect “Kaltura Capture January 2020”2021”.  You can then record a video on the spot (including video and screen captures), provide it with the proper metadata, and upload it to the server. Hit the save button that pops up in the video display after you finish recording and exit the Kaltura Capture program. More information on using Kaltura Capture can be found here.

  3. Save the Video Resource and return to the course.

  1. Navigate to the site, enable editing, click “Add an activity or resource” and select Media Assignment.

  2. Configure the grade and availability settings as you have previously with a normal CCLE assignment.

  3. If you wish to add media to the assignment description, such as a sample video or example of appropriate audio, click the Kaltura button.

  4. Follow the upload process to embed the desired video in the description field of the assignment as discussed above.

  5. Save the assignment and return to the course page.

  6. The students will now have an assignment in which they must upload media as part of their submission:  

    1. When they click on the assignment they will be asked to “Add media submission”

    2. Clicking this will take them to the Kaltura media popup screen.  Here, they can either select media they have already uploaded, upload a new piece of media (under the Add new button).

    3. After they select their media, they will click the Submit Media button to finalize their submission. Please note that a student may need to scroll to the very bottom of the page to see the Submit Media button. The activities settings determine if they can later replace this upload with another, or if they only get one upload per assignment.
