Langbase is an instructional website used to store information about eso= teric languages (some examples being Cebuano, Luo, or Quiche). Users who ha= ve access to the website can add information they have about a language's s= entences or words. It can be accessed at: https://langbase.humanities.ucla.edu/index.php = .
Langbase has two layers of login: site and user. Site login is to prove = that the user is allowed on the website (the credentials are given out by t= he professor), and user login is a traditional login for each user.
This is the main landing page until someone has logged in; nothing else = on the website is accessible for someone without site login access. Ask the= professor for site login info.
Here=E2=80=99s the landing page for users who are not logged in at the u= ser level, but are logged in at the site level. Users can click =E2=80=9Clo= g in=E2=80=9D at the top-right of the page (or create account, if necessary= ) in order to log in. If the user has forgotten their password, they can ha= ve an email sent to them for a password reset by clicking =E2=80=9CForgot P= assword?=E2=80=9D
This is the landing page for users who are logged in at both levels. The= y can visit language pages or go to their preferences page, where they can = request access for other languages.
Here, a user can see their info and request access to languages by click= ing =E2=80=9CPermissions=E2=80=9D in the sidebar.
A user can request permission to any language by clicking the checkbox o= f a language and pressing =E2=80=9Csubmit=E2=80=9D at the bottom of the pag= e. An admin will then accept or reject your request at a later time.
If a user isn=E2=80=99t logged in, they can see how many sentences/words= a language has, but cannot see/add any entries. If a description to the la= nguage is provided, the user will be able to see it. A user will be prompte= d to log in if they already aren=E2=80=99t.

This is where a user can see all of the sentences a language has. At the= top of the page are queries for filtering the languages. Below that, a use= r can specify the amount of sentences to be seen at a given time (and to th= e right are arrows that dictate which page the user is on).
A user can press =E2=80=9CAdd Entry=E2=80=9D to add a sentence, and they= can download all of the sentences as a .CSV or .tex (Latex) file by clicki= ng =E2=80=9CExport to .CSV=E2=80=9D or =E2=80=9CExport to .tex=E2=80=9D. Be= low that are all of the sentence entries.
On the table itself, a user do several things with an individual entry b= y interacting with it through the action column. They can:
View the entry (first option)
Duplicate the entry (the second option)
Edit the entry (the third option)
This is only available to the originator of the entry or an admin.
= li>A user can also click =E2=80=9CColumns=E2=80=9D in order to activate whi= ch columns are shown on the table (which can be done by clicking the checkb= oxes). They can also drag each box to change the order in which the columns= are displayed, and they can choose whether the columns will be sorted by a= scending or descending entries.
The words and sentences page functionally operate the same way.
The sources page does not allow a user to download the entries as a .CSV= or .tex file, but otherwise operates the same as sentences/words.
A user can add sentences/words through the Add Multiple entries page of = a language. Multiple entries can be submitted at once by clicking =E2=80=9C= Add=E2=80=9D at the bottom of the page, which adds a new form. A user can c= hoose for the entry to be a sentence or word by clicking =E2=80=9CSentence= =E2=80=9D or =E2=80=9CWord=E2=80=9D at the bottom of each entry. Then, each= user needs to fill out the phrase/word in the original language, the Engli= sh meaning, and optionally, comments. Then the users can submit an entry by= clicking =E2=80=9CSubmit=E2=80=9D.
